Real Estate License Requirements

  • 1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 2. Your record must be clear of any felony convictions (some exceptions may apply).
  • 3. You must successfully complete an approved 45-hour qualifying course such as the Real Estate License course from Certifytc. If you completed the 45-hour salesperson qualifying course prior to July 1, 2008, you may complete the 30-hour remedial course to meet licensure requirements.   • 4. You must have a current NYS Driver License or DMV-issued Non-Driver ID.
  • 5. You must pass the State of New York Real Estate Broker exam.
